Varija Bajaj’s Summer Bride Collection

picCouple of weeks back we had Varija Bajaj launch her Summer Bride collection at Amara. It was a happening event with guests including Shama Sikander, Vinod Mehta, Sangeeta Khanna, Joy mitra, Ananya Banerjee, Mrs. Malti Jain, Nisha Sagar, M.M Satish, Neeti and Viveka Babaji  to name a few.

The collection is vibrant and alive with bright hues that would make any blushing bride look gorgeous. The traditional wear has a touch of modernity to it, making it unique. The practicality of the dresses makes it easier on the bride to carry it for longer. People paid the daring designer compliments on her different approach to bridal wear, making it that much more exciting.

Interview: Archana Vadnerkar @ Lakme Fashion Week

We got in touch with @archuvadnerkar who walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week for Shyamal and Bhumika’s show. We thought it would be great to find out how she felt walking the ramp at this event for the first time!

shyamal-bhumika-show-at-lfw-2010

Was this your first time at Lakme Fashion Week? How was the experience different from other fashion weeks/ ramp shows you might have done?

Yes this was my first time at Lakme Fashion Week , 2010

I have always looked forward to this day … when I would be walking the prestigious ramp at Lakme fashion week.  It felt superb. Finally, I have started to believe that I am here to stay.

It is a new experience Every time I walk the ramp. As there is no second take /chance.

You walk once and make that impact/impression. Those few seconds of being there on the ramp makes a huge difference.

Ramp has always been my 1st choice, as a child I always knew I wanted to be a ramp model. I was determined … worked hard and patiently looked forward for the positive developments. Which slowly … one by one came my way … and I believe there are many more on my way that I shall cherish J

I have walked for kolkata fashion week 09. That being the 1st fashion week … I was really nervous on day one. All I knew was, I wanted to give it my best. I enjoyed the experience and that surely helped me to be more confident at LFW.

What did you think about the collection?

I loved the Holi collection. It’s a very colorful, vibrant and fun collection. It was a riot of colors on the ramp, a burst of yellow, green, orange, hot pink, blue, gold, fuchsia and purple. Lovely and very comfortable.

Her message to any young aspiring model out there is “Determination , Hardwork and patience  always pays off”. So hang in there guys and gals!

The show ended with Satya Paul’s collection mainly of brightly colored sarees. Mandira Bedi started the show in a multicolored saree in blue, red and mauve.
